Village life - summer scenery

In my late teens I moved from Santa Cruz, where I'd always lived, to rural, southwest Ohio. In the months before my departure, I was met with not a few negative comments from my fellow Californians, the crux of which were that rural Ohio would be flat, dry, and ugly, and within a week I would be weeping for home.
I set off, mentally prepared for some kind of soul-crushing horror, and instead I spent four years being amazed at the loveliness of the Ohio valley.
That experience taught me several valuable lessons—not the least of which is how to recognize snobbery when I hear it—but also, that beauty can be found anywhere if we're willing to look for it.
This little piece of Transylvania might not be the California coast, but I don't think one has to search too hard to find beauty here.
What follows are photos taken during our walks during the past few weeks. They're all within 1 to 40 minutes walking distance of our house. Please note that no filters were used on any of the photos, they're the raw, unedited shots I got with my phone camera.

Just some horses and donkeys hanging out in a field back there
Just some goats hanging out on the roof of a house and wondering why I'm taking their picture

Just some sheep hanging out at the neighbor's house, eating grass, as sheep do
That sky, so blue it seems unreal

I hope wherever you are, you have a chance today to go for your own stroll. If you're ill, or recovering from an illness, or otherwise just unable to get outside, I hope you take a moment to peek through a window and appreciate the beauty that is out there.
Thank you for reading.
Be well.
